Neoprene (CR)

Neoprene (chloroprene rubber, CR) is a robust all-rounder with very good abrasion resistance, suitable for water, slurries and many mildly aggressive fluids. Pumps with this diaphragm are rated for fluid temperatures up to 80 °C (see the data sheet of each version).

Typical fluids

Water, waste water, slurries with solids, lime milk and dilute acids and alkalis.

Typical applications

  • Abrasives: clay slip, titanium dioxide, sinter materials, lime slurries, cements, scale
  • Cements & powders: mortar, diatomaceous earth, fillers with and without additives
  • Ceramics: pottery slip, glazes, clay
  • Waste water & sludge: waste water, filter press feed, sewage sludge, softening and lime sludges, coal and coke slurries
  • Drilling: drilling mud, bentonite, lubricants, plaster mortar

Limits

Not suitable for solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons and strongly oxidising acids.
