Air-operated diaphragm pumps

In the paint and varnish industry, where a variety of solvents are used, the approval of paint pumps for explosive environments is crucial. This is best achieved by using air-operated diaphragm pumps. With metallic aluminium pumps or stainless steel pumps, only a conductive control block is required. In contrast, the housing parts of the double diaphragm pumps made of plastic must be made of conductive plastic, which is possible in all series.

Since air-operated diaphragm pumps are also excellently suited for pumping viscous products, they can also be used for pumping paints and varnishes containing solvents. These versatile pumps enable precise and safe handling of materials in paint and varnish production.

Electrical diaphragm pumps

Electric diaphragm pumps offer an effective solution, especially in situations where compressed air is not available or the air network is overloaded. These pumps combine the advantages of air-operated diaphragm pumps with an electric drive, making them versatile and efficient. However, it should be noted that they cannot operate against closed gate valves, which must be taken into account in certain applications.

Electric diaphragm pumps are also capable of safely and reliably pumping a wide range of fluids, including viscous media. This makes them a viable choice for various industrial applications where reliable fluid delivery is required.

Peristaltic pumps

Peristaltic pumps offer an effective solution for water-based paints and varnishes without solvents, especially when viscous products are involved. These electrically driven pumps allow precise control of the flow rate via frequency converters and are characterised by their impressive pumping speed. One of the characteristic features of peristaltic pumps is their resistance to dry running, which avoids problems such as burnt stators that can occur with progressing cavity pumps.

However, it should be noted that peristaltic pumps are not suitable when pumping solvents. In such cases, other pump technologies must be considered.

Stainless steel centrifugal pumps

ATEX-certified stainless steel centrifugal pumps are a suitable solution when low-viscosity products such as solvents need to be pumped. These pumps are specifically approved for use in explosive environments, which enables their use in demanding industrial applications.

The stainless steel construction ensures resistance to corrosive media and offers high reliability. In addition, these pumps are known for their efficiency and performance, making them an ideal choice for handling solvents.

Drum pumps

In many cases, solvents needed for cleaning and mixing purposes are supplied in drums. To efficiently transfer these solvents into smaller containers or directly into the production process, explosion-proof drum pumps can be used.

These pumps are specially designed for use in potentially explosive environments and provide additional safety when handling flammable materials. The option of an air motor enables flexible and reliable delivery of the solvents.
