NBR (Buna-N)

NBR (nitrile rubber, Buna-N) is the standard elastomer for oils, greases and fuels. It is economical, elastic and abrasion-resistant. Pumps with this valve seat are rated for fluid temperatures up to 80 °C (see the data sheet of each version).

Typical fluids

Mineral oils, hydraulic oils, diesel, heating oil, greases and oily waste water.

Typical applications

Oils: petroleum, crude oil, diesel, heating oil, hydraulic and cutting oils, lubricants, greases, edible oils
Drilling: drilling mud, bentonite, lubricants, plaster mortar
Resins: natural and synthetic water- and solvent-based resins, monomers and polymers

Limits

Not suitable for ketones, ozone, strong acids and aromatic solvents.
